.) How can you offer a roof warranty for $1.00?

A.) THWS will perform a free roof inspection for any needed repairs. If the roof passes inspection, then you simply pay your wind/hail deductible to THWS plus $1. Your roof will be covered under the terms of our roof warranty program. THWS holds on to the deductible until a wind/hailstorm damages the shingles to the point they need to be replaced. At that time, you will file a claim with your insurance company, THWS will apply the amount paid to THWS towards the deductible and complete all the work on the insurance estimate.

.) What if my roof does not pass THWS inspection?

A.) If repairs are required, THWS will quote those repairs and the homeowner has the option to pay for the repairs and then purchase the warranty. If the roof has enough damage or repairs that it needs to be replaced, then it will not be eligible for the warranty program.

.) What kind of roofs are eligible for the $1 roof warranty?

A.) Most asphalt, sloped roofs will be eligible for the warranty program if they pass the inspection or if the recommended repairs are made by THWS. Roofs that are not eligible are: Metal roofs, tile/slate/concrete roofs, flat roofs, tar & gravel roofs, wood shake roofs, and most composite roofs. THWS does not charge for the initial inspection, so if there is any doubt, please feel free to ask for your free inspection.

.) How do you determine the deductible amount and what if my actual deductible is higher or lower when the roof is replaced?

A.) Most homeowners have a 1% deductible, but you should be able to call your current homeowner’s insurance company and ask the amount of your wind/hail deductible. If the amount is unknown for some reason, then we typically use 1% of the value of the home.

When there is a storm event that warrants the replacement of the roof, THWS will apply the full amount paid towards the actual current deductible. In the event the actual current deductible is more than what was paid, the homeowner will be responsible for the difference. In the event it is lower, you will receive a credit for the difference.

.) Is the full amount transferrable if I sell the house?

A.) Yes, the amount paid is a “pre-paid deductible” and that amount will be transferred to the new owners each time the house is sold. The warranty and pre-paid deductible stay with the home.
